Race rules

  • Everyone in a race types the same passage: 30–50 words with capitals and punctuation, typed exactly as shown.
  • When you open the race page you wait for another player. As soon as a second racer joins, a 10-second countdown starts; anyone else who arrives before it ends joins too (up to 5 racers).
  • Each word must be typed correctly before the next one starts — fix mistakes with backspace. Every wrong keystroke lowers your accuracy.
  • There's no time limit. The race ends when everyone has finished, or 3 minutes after the first finisher.
  • WPM is measured on our server: the passage's characters (spaces included) ÷ 5 ÷ minutes from the start signal to your last keystroke. Finishes above 250 WPM aren't ranked.
  • Paste is disabled. Leaving or reloading during a race counts as not finishing.
  • Signed-in racers earn XP: the usual typing XP, plus 10 for finishing and 25 for winning against at least one other racer.

Create a private race and send the link to up to 4 friends. Everyone waits in a room until you press start; then you all type the same passage.
